I went with my son, and it was perfect. A beautiful place. Stunning views. Divine peace and quiet. The property is sunny, but there’s also some shade. It’s on a hill, so expect it to be windy. That caught us by surprise on the first evening. But after that, it was calm. The solar shower is awesome. The toilet smells great. We brought our own firewood and skewers, but some wood was available on-site. The owner is very friendly and kind. He took care of us as if we were family—he lent us chairs and a hammer, offered us coffee, brought us fresh water from his own well in a jug, and gave us advice on where to go and how to get there; he even drove us all the way to the rocks. The dog and cat are the best greeters, but they really aren’t a bother—they’ll join in if you want to have fun, then discreetly disappear again. In addition to trips to the Besedice Rocks, we recommend the bike trail from Žel. Brod to Turnov and back, possibly by train. The Žel. Brod swimming area is a must! Think twice about the Dry Rocks—it’s not a tourist attraction. We set out up the ladders, but I called for a retreat; it’s not an easy climb. Thank you for three wonderful days—you’re sure to enjoy it here.
Camping is not allowed in two sections of the property. The land is relatively flat, but you’ll need to use wedges. The entire property has been carefully cleared; it includes a modern plastic outhouse and a solar-powered shower. The owner is exceptionally accommodating, and it’s incredible what he’s managed to build on this extremely sloped plot and how much work he put into leveling the land. One part of the property offers a stunning view of the valley. He has a wonderful, friendly dog that greets each guest individually. Access may be a bit more challenging with a very large RV or trailer; in that case, it’s best to consult with the owner in advance. Otherwise, we highly recommend staying here.
